Lava to launch Iris X1 with Android KitKat and costs less than INR8000


This is the first smartphone from Lava to come with Android KitKat preloaded. And at the same time it is also the first mobile in this price bracket with latest Android version.


Lava has announced its latest Iris series smartphone, which is named as Iris X1. It will be priced below INR 8000.

Sony mobiles have announced the Sony Xperia C dual sim handset with the MediaTek chipset.  It will sport a 5 inch screen with qHD resolution and 8MP camera with EXMOR R Sensors. All of us know Mediatek chipsets are most affordable and on the top list now a days. Along with the good performance, they also reduce costing, which finally proves a boon for end users. Its having MT6589 chipset. Housed 8MP camera can record full HD videos.Specifications chart is out but finally it will be the price tag that will decide its market response. Being having MediaTek chipset, its going to be cheapest quad core in the Sony family.

Micromax rolls out JB4.2 for Canvas HD

Good news for Canvas HD users: Micromax has announced Jelly Bean 4.2 update for their Micromax A116 Canvas HD. You can grab it by visiting the Micromax Service center. In the recent past, Micromax had given 4.1.1 update for its most popular handset, Micromax A110 aka Canvas 2.  In Jelly Bean 4.2 on the A116, Micromax has enabled external storage usage. Thus with 4.2 you will be able to move and install apps on external storage. There is a high probability that new A116 stocks might come pre-loaded with android 4.2 OS.



As Micromax has changed their FTP user / password, we cannot download and install it ourselves. But sooner or later, official Micromax A116 Android 4.2 is going to be uploaded on some other server by one of smart guys.

Fresh stock of Xolo Q800 coming with downgraded chipset MTK6589W-M !!!?

The Xolo Q800 was a wonderful phone with an economical price tag. But it was very shocking and demoralizing when some of the users who recently bought the Q800 have claimed that the chipset has been downgraded. Those users are not happy with this sudden change without any intimation and perceive it as a breach of contract.

Initially Q800 came powered with Mediatek MT6589 quad core chipset. New buyers have complained that the chipset is MT6589M or MT6589W-M instead of MT6589.
