Zopo ZP980 review

Today I am here with the best option to Canvas HD and other such phones in the same price bracket. For a long time many of you were looking for a substitute / alternative of Canvas HD. Friends the wait seems to be over now. Now its time to say good-bye to our beloved Canvas HD and move to Zopo ZP980. It comes in two memory versions 4GB and 16 GB. Many specifications/features are much much better than Canvas HD. Build quality and design are also far better than Canvas HD.

Zopo ZP980 is a premium looking phone with following main features:

Design and Display

Display is 5" screen with FHD resolution (1920×1080 pixels ~ 440.58 ppi). Its having IPS screen with 16M colours with superb viewing angles. The screen comes with Corning Gorilla glass 2 protection. The screen is sharp and vivid.

 

The handset looks professional and of premium quality. Solid build quality and superb finishing.

The rear side mild textured with matte finish. The handset measures 8.5 mm thick and weighs about 154g. The slim look with the 2.47 mm ultra narrow bezel. Silver sides adds to the appeal factor.

A 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the top, volume rockers on the left and the power/lock button on the right side. On the bottom side there is the micro USB port and the mic.

 Sensors: There are magnetic, accelerometer, light and proximity sensors. The handset supports dual SIM with dual standby mode. The SIM 1 is a micro SIM slot and SIM 2 the normal slot.

Memory, storage and OS

It is loaded with 1GB RAM and 16GB/4GB storage. It runs on the Android 4.2.1 OS. The space allocated for app storage is 1.48GB of which 1.30GB is available. About 12GB is available as phone storage. Apps can be directly installed to external storage.

Performance

The performance is smooth with no lags as there is MTK6589, Cortex A7 Quad-core, 1.2GHz, GPU: PowerVR SGX 544.

13 MP camera

This phone with a 13MP rear camera and a front 5MP. But you can set the front camera upto 8MP resolution. In video mode there is the HD option which will record 1080p @ 15fps and the fine mode records videos in 1080p @ 30fps. The high option will record in 720p resolution.
